Mentioned this in a previous post, but just seen this in The Guardian, which has a little more detail – Never mind GDP – make free time the measure of UK wellbeing

Sian Berry, the Green Party’s co-leader, made some really good points on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme this morning - Free time should be measure of UK’s well-being

16-bit Intel 8088 chip

It’s National Poetry Day, so …

16-bit Intel 8088 chip

with an Apple Macintosh
you can’t run Radio Shack programs
in its disc drive.
nor can a Commodore 64
drive read a file
you have created on an
IBM Personal Computer.
both Kaypro and Osborne computers use
the CP/M operating system
but can’t read each other’s
handwriting
for they format (write
on) discs in different
ways.
the Tandy 2000 runs MS-DOS but
can’t use most programs produced for
the IBM Personal Computer
unless certain
bits and bytes are
altered
but the wind still blows over
Savannah
and in the Spring
the turkey buzzard struts and
flounces before his
hens.

I enjoy a Macallan malt, but maybe quite not this much – Bottle of whisky sold for world record Β£848,000 – the label does look very good though…

Cooked rakott kelkΓ‘poszta – Hungarian layered savoy cabbage casserole – last night, using Quorn mince in place of the meat, adding a few chopped mushrooms and chopped roasted carrots and using some smoked paprika in addition to the sweet. I’m not usually a huge fan of Quorn, but it did work very well in this recipe.

Went to see the incredible Norwegian band Major Parkinson at Exchange in Bristol last night. One of the best live performances I’ve seen in a long time! 🎡

Just upgraded Acorn image editor from version 4 to version 6

To celebrate the launch of macOS Mojave … we’re slashing the price of Acorn by 50% for a limited time.

It’s the image editor I use most on the Mac and IMHO at $14.99 is a bargain!
