Purple Hibiscus at the Barbican Centre

A new artwork by Ibrahim Mahama transforms our Lakeside Terrace, enveloping the building’s iconic concrete walls with approximately 2000 square metres of bespoke woven cloth.

A large building is wrapped in magenta fabric adorned with various textile art pieces. The surrounding area features people walking, sitting on benches, and a few outdoor tables in a plaza on a sunny day. Modern skyscrapers are visible in the background.
